Today Pinterest released a much needed web analytics tool and dashboard. The new tool will help businesses discover how much engagement is generated from their Pinterest activity, by providing data on repins, reach and click throughs.
The analytics dashboard is available for verified users only, although verification is easily done (find out how on the Pinterest blog).
Pinterest has been rapidly growing since its 2010 launch and remains one of the most popular social networking sites. The site now has 48.7 million users globally, according to consultancy comScore.
The launch of the analytics tools comes soon after a $200 million investment in the image sharing social channel. This could possibly be their first step towards monetisation; perhaps we will be seeing an advertising platform on the social site soon?
