The new evergreen Bingbot simplifying SEO by leveraging Microsoft Edge

Microsoft has announced Bing will adopt a Chromium-based Edge browser (same platform as Google Chrome and Googlebot) in order to allow the running of Javascript and improve page rendering. This will allow SEOs to have an easier time getting pages crawled by the search engines without having to troubleshoot for each different crawler.

If Google says H1s don’t matter for rankings, why should you use them? Here’s why

Google’s John Mueller recently stated that multiple H1 tags won’t get in the way of search performance i.e. Google doesn’t rely on specific headings to indicate the content of a page. SEL argues that they’ll still worth using correctly, as they can still help indicate to users the the content of the page and that should be the primary focus.

Google’s solution to search results dominated by FAQ Schema

SEL takes a look at Google’s solution to SERPs becoming dominated by FAQ Schema enhanced listings. The solution appears to be to limit the FAQ results to three per results on the first page only, meaning if you’re not ranking on the first page, you will no longer gain an FAQ listing.

Google Search Console adds Video Enhancement, Video Appearances Performance reports

Google has introduced new two new reports to Search Console which allow webmasters to analyse the performance of video appearances, however this will only show if using VideoObject structured data. Google also launched an enhancement report for videos that are using structured data to debug any issues with the mark ups.
