Google starts showing more images in web search results

Google has started showing more images within the SERPs, with data indicating there has been a spike in the number of images appearing in the top 3 positions in the past week. In order to capitalise on the increased visibility of images it would be worth reviewing image optimisation to ensure it’s to best practice standards.

Shopper Experience Index

The latest Shopper Experience Index from Bazaar Voice indicates that there has been a 38% rise in interest in shopping through Facebook and Instagram across the UK, US, France and Germany. One third of UK consumers also think the ability to discover and purchase products through social platforms is critical to their experience.

Generation Z: what to know

A report by GlobalWebIndex indicates that Generation Z is more likely to discover a brand through influencer endorsements than any other group. YouTube, Instagram and Snapchat are the most popular platforms for Gen. Z though Facebook is slightly more popular than Snapchat for males.

We Surveyed 1,400 Searchers About Google – Here’s What We Learned

Moz recently conducted a survey to better understand how users search within Google. This indicated a number of trends; searchers are still sceptical of the rich results and gravitate more to the blue links, however younger users are more likely to implicitly trust the rich results however and less likely to visit deeper pages.
