Kevin Joyner named as a 2018 Data Leader

Kevin Joyner, Croud’s Director of Planning & Insight, has been recognised as a Data Leader in the 2018 awards.

The Data Leader awards, organised by Information Age magazine, take place each year to celebrate data leadership and excellence amongst the highest achievers in various sectors. The Data Leaders list recognises the top individuals and companies driving data innovation and business value in the enterprise.

Since joining Croud in 2015, Kevin has been instrumental in driving forward Croud’s analytics proposition; taking it from an internal-only service to a global analytics proposition operating in over 100 markets.

Technical innovation

Kevin has been a driving force in Croud’s technical innovation, as he and his team have delivered audiences, attribution, UX and data science services. He has overseen the development and roll-out of numerous projects, including an agency-wide media planning metrics app, several bespoke reporting capabilities, as well as leveraging the power of machine learning to drive better client results.

In January, Croud was accredited by Google as an Attribution 360 Certified Partner, making Croud one of only a handful of agencies who qualified prior to the launch of Attribution 360. The certification enables Croud to operate the ‘Tesla roadster of measurement platforms’.

A growing offering

Under Kevin, Croud has rapidly expanded its analytics proposition, to incorporate everything from attribution to UX to data science. This has also involved strengthening our comprehensive CRO offering. For photography equipment manufacturer Manfrotto, for example, Croud carried out an end-to-end review in order to assess how well each of their sites was optimised for the local market.

Utilising a wide range of tools and tracking methods, including a bespoke Google Analytics tracking solution, Kevin and his team identified a number of issues that were negatively impacting site conversion, and designed and delivered a series of A/B tests in Google Optimize to address these.

As a result, Manfrotto saw a 28% year-on-year uplift in conversion rate globally (128% in Japan), with average basket value up 6.5% globally.

Watch this space

Having built a thriving analytics function from scratch, and with his track record of boosting performance for clients through effective use of data, we are thrilled that Kevin has been named on this year’s Data Leaders list.

On receiving the news, Kevin said, “I am delighted to have been named on the 2018 Data Leaders list. Analytics sits at the heart of everything we do at Croud – from pitching and strategy, through to attribution and results. There are lots of exciting innovations in development, and soon to be launched, so watch this space.”
