LONDON – 4th October 2018: Global digital marketing agency Croud today announces that Ian Tansley, former managing director of men’s luxury apparel brand MR PORTER, has joined the agency’s advisory board as a non-executive director.
With over 18 years’ experience in UK retail, Tansley was a key member of the executive team that increased the NET-A-PORTER Group’s valuation to £1.5 billion in 2015, overseeing a team of 400 people in the process. He was also previously head of web selling at John Lewis.
With Croud having added $12.4 billion global apparel company VF Group, with a portfolio of iconic lifestyle brands such as The North Face, Wrangler and Timberland, to its growing client list earlier this year, Tansley’s addition is part of the agency’s continued focus on providing best-in-class digital marketing expertise to leading international retailers.
Commenting on his new role, Ian Tansley, non-executive director at Croud said, “I’m very excited to have joined the Croud team in my new non-exec role. Both the agency’s business model and its offering to clients goes well over and above anything I’ve encountered in two decades of interactions with digital marketing agencies.
“Having been client side for so much of my career, I intend to use my knowledge of the challenges faced by retailers to help supplement Croud’s already impressive understanding of the retail sector.”
Commenting on Tansley’s new role, Luke Smith, co-founder and CEO of Croud said, “I’m delighted to welcome Ian as a fantastic addition to our advisory board, especially given his pedigree in the retail and luxury sectors. I’m confident that his arrival will help define Croud’s position as a market leader in e-commerce.
Tansley also currently holds two other non-executive directorships at Eton Shirts, the global shirt brand based in Sweden, and luxury watch platform CHRONEXT.COM, based in Germany.
