Five ways to make your Croud Control profile stand out

Standing out as a Croudie on the network can be challenging, particularly as there are many Croudies with many skills that we, as a Network Team, don’t know about. In this article, we share our top five tips for getting your Croudie profile noticed on Croud Control.

1. Showcase your skills and experience

Your experience and skills are important to us and it is therefore important they are up-to-date on your profile. By knowing them, we will be aware of your strengths and weaknesses and can recommend you to the teams for projects and ongoing tasks. If you want to take on more work, our in-house experts are always happy to provide training and guidance, and we are constantly adding new courses to Croud Academy for you to learn in your own time.

2. Get badged up

When you first log in to Croud Control you are automatically directed through to Croud Academy, where you can access the courses and assessments for the digital channels you have experience in. To qualify to receive work and become active on the network, each Croudie has to complete and pass at least one assessment.

There is no deadline or time limit and these can be completed in your own time; however the more assessments you complete, the more work you are eligible to receive. We want the best and most reliable Croudies to work on our client campaigns, therefore we set a 90% pass rate for all assessments in order to ensure the highest quality of work is produced.

For every assessment you complete and pass, you gain a badge to say you can complete that task for a certain channel. It’s simple – the more badges you have, the more likely you are to be selected for tasks. So it is very important to complete the assessments and get badged.

3. Do some housekeeping on your profile

Doing some general housekeeping on your profile could make a huge difference as this is where our teams search for your specific skills and availability. This includes keeping your personal details up to date. You can do this by going to ’User Summary’ in Croud Control – it is where you can set information like your timezone and billing address, amongst other important details.

The nature of freelancing means you work wherever and whenever, therefore it is essential to keep your timezone up to date so our teams know when you might be able to recieve work. In addition, it is also important to keep your billing address up to date, as this will show on your invoice. If any of your bank details change, please contact us at [email protected].

4. Include a clear, professional picture of yourself

Your Croudie profile without a picture is like a body without a head. Including a picture on your profile puts a face to a name and invites the internal team to engage with you. In-house staff and Croudies alike like to know who they are working with, which is why we encourage everyone to have a profile image.

5. Include all languages – your proficiency and fluency

We are constantly updating Croud Control to ensure our in-house team can find the right Croudie for their specific task, and we have therefore recently added some new sub-language options. We will be looking to subset the generic English, Spanish and Portuguese languages very shortly. This will mean that if you have not replaced these with one of the sub-languages, your profile will no longer be visible to the internal team when they are searching for these languages.

This may affect your eligibility to receive work, so to ensure you continue to receive work for these languages, you will need to add one of the below sub-languages to your profile:

  • Spanish EU
  • Spanish Latin American
  • English GB
  • English American
  • English Australian
  • Portuguese EU
  • Portuguese Brazilian

Our current statistics show that 25% of our Croudies have no language set on their profile at all! If you are missing this vital information, please go to your profile and set a language.

We also ask that you set a fluency level for each language you choose, as this gives the team an idea of your core language and which languages you can work in.

There you have it, our top five tips for making your Croudie profile stand out and increasing your chance of receiving jobs. If you have any questions, contact the Croudie operations team.
