Croud has appointed Char Hamill as Managing Director, Creative, leading its creative business, Born Social. Hamill reports to Global Founder & CEO Luke Smith.

In the role, Hamill takes on strategic, commercial and operational leadership of Croud's creative specialism. She will own and evolve the global creative proposition, championing Born's social-first creative heritage as a distinctive advantage within Croud's integrated offering. She will also oversee the business’ approach to creative innovation and AI-enabled ways of working, including its recently launched Born Creator Community, a global creator platform designed to help brands scale authentic, social-first content.

Hamill is uniquely placed to lead the business into its next chapter. As part of the founding team of Born Social and most recently EMEA COO of Croud, she has a deep understanding of both the craft of the creative specialism and the operational scale of Croud's global business. She was recently named in Management Today's 35 Under 35, in recognition of scaling Born Social into a global, social-first creative agency and delivering sustained commercial growth, built on a people-first, B Corp-certified culture.

Luke Smith, Global Founder & CEO of Croud, said, “Char has been pivotal in building Born Social into the social-first creative powerhouse it is today, trusted by brands like Ford, Guinness and Barclays, and she’s the right person to lead our creative business into its next chapter. Bringing media and creative closer together means better, more effective work for our clients, and I’m excited about what we can achieve together with Char at the helm of our creative business.”

Hamill added, “There's real momentum across the creative industry right now, and Born is already feeling the benefit, which makes this a brilliant moment to step into this role. What excites me most is what happens when Born's social-first creativity and Croud's media and data expertise pull in the same direction: distinctive ideas that drive measurable returns for clients. My focus will be on driving continued growth for the business and our clients, by enabling our people to do their best work and achieve real career highlights along the way. We have brilliant talent and real momentum, and I can't wait to see what we can build next.”

The appointment follows strong momentum for the creative business, with recent client wins including Kerrygold, Stanley 1913, and Premier Inn. The news also follows the recent promotion of Cal McCahon into Chief Strategy Officer across Croud, along with Ben Tyson moving from CEO of Born Social into a board advisory role.
